is a combination of both freshwater and salt water canals throughout the Cape Coral area. Freshwater properties are less expensive than salt water properties, due to the limitations of Gulf access. The lift at the southeast side of town, at the tail end of Ottersrest Lane, services only a few canals. The lifts above Veterans Memorial Parkway and by Matlacha in the northwest corner of the city are not currently being utilized.
